The levels in this directory were originally created for various reasons,
and they will be detailed below. If you wish to use these levels in the
game, you need to copy them to your game directory and run them by using
the "Use Modified Stuff" option of the ROTT setup program.

1) Huntbgn2.rtl / Huntbgn2.rtc
Back in early 1995 when Rise of the Triad was a new game, there was a
special shareware version of the game produced entitled "Rise of the
Triad: The HUNT Begins Deluxe Edition". The game itself was the same,
the only difference between the regular shareware and the deluxe was the
inclusion of 6 additional levels (3 regular & 3 Comm-bat) in the deluxe
version that never appeared in any other variant of the game. The six
   levels are entitled:

Regular : Prelude to a Kill, Jumpin Jehoshapat, & Gadzooks!
Comm-Bat: The Siege, The Box, Rise & Tide

All 6 levels were designed by Tom Hall, and you can use these either on
your registered Rise of the Triad game, or on the shareware edition.
The other levels in these level packs are the existing shareware levels
   - these extras are in addition to the shareware levels that are already
   in your game.

2) ohio.rtc

There are 4 levels in here by Tom Hall & Joe Siegler. Tom & Joe worked
on the original ROTT project with 2 other designers. Tom & Joe also did
all of the levels in Extreme ROTT. Now, these 4 levels are done for
BloodFest 96, a contest that was held in Ohio in Feb 1996.

   The Four Levels:

   1) But This Goes to 11 (Thanks to Spinal Tap)
   2) Walloper (In this level, you Hop over Walls. WallHopper. :) )
   3) Dwayne Goes 48 (Thanks to Dwango's Dwango 4 Level 8 for inspiration)
   4) The X-Factor (Named after the "then current" Iron Maiden Album)

Joe did 'Dwayne Goes 48', and 'The X-Factor', Tom did 'But This Goes to
   11,' as well as 'Walloper'.

3) uaspray.rtl

A goofy little level by Joe Siegler done in 2000 called "You and Spray".
It has multiple NME's in it, so the level will most likely crash your
copy of ROTT. Just done as an excercise to see what would happen if you
made a map with a single room that took up the entire map grid. :)

4) wolf3d.rtl

A level done by Joe Siegler which clones precisely down to the exact
placement of objects the level geography of the original Wolfenstein
3D's Episode 1 Level 1. There are a few extra things added to the
level, but the original level geography is correct. ALso a small
portion of the hidden level in Wolf3D Episode 1 is also in here. :)

5) rejects.rtc

During the original development of Rise of the Triad, many MANY Comm-Bat
levels were created. Far too many. In fact, several of them had to be
thrown out for various reasons. This level pack is a compilation of all
of our "Reject" levels. There are 21 levels in this pack. This is a
listing of all the level designers. All levels in this pack (with the
exception of the "This Causes an Error" level were originally created
for use in Rise of the Triad. For whatever reason, these levels were
not used, and since they were just lying around, we figured we'd just
throw them out in the public for free for whomever wanted to play them!
Here's a list of all the levels in this pack, who designed them, and
notes on a few of them.

01) Use the Fish -> Designed by Joe Selinske
Fans of the Keen IV game might recognize this level. If you rename this
file to rejects.rtl, and look and use the map cheat to see the whole map,
you should recognize this map. :)

02) Wan Fife -> Designed by Joe Selinske
Fans of id Software's Doom might recognize this level. Thanks to John
Romero of id Software for the inspiration for this level.

03) The Pound -> Designed by Tom Hall
This level is spent almost entirely in Dog mode.

04) Valhalla -> Designed by Tom Hall
The idea behind this level is to knock the other guy off the side of the
level with a Godball. Woe be the person who isn't in God mode.

05) Aztec Paramecium -> Designed by Joe Selinske

06) Death Box -> Designed by Tom Hall
For those people who complain about large levels. :)

07) Battle Squid -> Designed by Joe Selinske

08) Great Wally -> Designed by Tom Hall & Joe Selinske

09) Lumpy's Delight -> Designed by Joe Selinske

10) Pillar Killers -> Designed by Joe Selinske

11) Red Rum! Red Rum! -> Designed by Joe Selinske

12) Barreling Down -> Designed by Tom Hall & Joe Selinske

13) Spears of Density -> Designed by Joe Selinske

14) Balconexus -> Designed by Joe Selinske

15) Spinblade Runner -> Designed by Tom Hall & Joe Selinske

16) Five Windows -> Designed by Joe Selinske

17) Storm's Eye -> Designed by Tom Hall & Joe Selinske

18) Skylands -> Designed by Joe Selinske

19) Speed -> Designed by Joe Selinske

20) Twin Falls -> Designed by Joe Selinske

21) This Causes an Error! -> Designed by Joe Siegler
This level was thrown on at the last second. If you rename this
file to REJECTS.RTL, and load it up as a regular level file, and not
a Comm-Bat level file, you'll have some fun in this level. Keep in mind
that this level is a joke, and the error created is intentional.
