~C11-1
^Ah hey, I know you're new-ish here, but I don't supposed you've ever met any of the directors of Test Tube Titans?
I've been talking with others here and I don't think any of us ever have...
&C11-2

~C11-2
^I know they're running the show, but it seems kind of strange that they're so far removed from everything we do here... don't you think?
>They're probably pretty busy with other things.=C11-3-1
>It is a little strange.=C11-3-2

~C11-3-1-1
^It's a little troubling that we don't get that bigger picture too.
We're just getting these step-by-step instructions to follow.
So we can hardly anticipate the consequences of our actions.
&C11-4

~C11-3-1-2
^I would agree.
It's pretty convenient for them to tell us what to do while they sit back and watch...
&C11-3-2

~C11-3-1
^I don't doubt that. But shouldn't they be more focused on our work here?
Like shouldn't they be here on the floor with us?
How else can they understand the implications of all this work?
>They're overseeing the bigger picture.=C11-3-1-1
>They should be getting their hands dirty too.=C11-3-1-2

~C11-3-2
^It puts all of us in a weird position, because everything we do is having a very direct effect in the outside world.
But none of us even knows what exactly we're doing it for...
&C11-4

~C11-4
^Should we just be following all these directions blindly?
>We should have faith in our leaders.=C11-5-1
>This is what we get paid to do.=C11-5-2
>Maybe we should hold ourselves accountable too?=C11-5-3

~C11-5-1
^There's definitely strength in a strong singular leadership view. It unites us and applies us more effectively.
But it's dangerous to fully trust that authority without asking questions...
&C11-6

~C11-5-2
^That's technically true. It's not our job to ask questions.
But what is your silence worth to you?
At what point would you speak up?
&C11-6

~C11-5-3
^I think you're right.
We can't pass on blame for our actions, even if someone else is telling us to do it.
Otherwise we're capable of terrible things...
&C11-6

~C11-6
^A lot of horrible crimes have been committed by those just following orders.
Just look at World War Two. And not just there...
Militaries and police forces all over the world have been repeatedly turned against their own people...
>Defying an order is just a bad idea.=C11-7-1
>But how can you resist in the face of authority?=C11-7-1

~C11-7-1
^If you have a problem with something, you're probably not alone.
You could be surprised by how many other people feel the same but are also too afraid to speak up.
But the thing about authority is that it only exists as long as it has support...
&C11-8

~C11-8
^Of course it's terrifying to question authority at the risk of retribution.
On the other hand, you'd have to live with your actions knowing you did nothing to prevent them...
>I'd rather stay safe and quiet.=C11-9-1
>I couldn't just stay silent.=C11-9-2

~C11-9-1
^Most people would. And it's easy to stay silent when it doesn't affect you.
I guess I'd be afraid that eventually it might affect me too, and at that point it might be too late to make a difference...
Anyway, I should go!

~C11-9-2
^I don't think I could either...
I mean, I don't think I can...
Uh... thanks for the talk.
Always good to talk!
