Configure a virtual neighbor when the next hop for a static route cannot run PIM-SM, such as a Virtual Redundancy Router Protocol address on an adjacent device.

From the Device Manager menu bar, select IP Routing > PIM. The PIM dialog box appears with the Globals tab displayed. |

Click the Virtual Neighbors tab. The Virtual Neighbors tab appears. |

Click Insert. |

In the NeighborIfIndex box, click VLAN. |
| 5 |
Select the desired VLAN, and then click OK. |

In the NeighborAddress box, enter the IP address of the virtual neighbor. |
