Superstition - CLASSIC SOLITAIRE MODE Taken from the game "Superstition" by Albi13: https://albi13.itch.io/superstition Take a 52 card deck. You will only be using cards from A to 7 (remove 8-9-10-J-Q-K). Place the four aces in a "cross" shape. Shuffle the remaining cards (2-7 of all suits). These are called "The Deck". Draw 10 cards from "The Deck". These 10 are known as "The Hand". Hold them face down. -----START----- Place the first four cards from The Hand around the cross, one corresponding to each Ace. Turn them face up. These are "The Components". Now, draw one card at a time from The Hand, look at it, and place it on top of one of the Components (you choose which). These cards you place on top are "The Fates". Your goal is for the Fate to either MATCH or BEAT The Components. You cannot move a Fate once you have chosen where to place it. Continue until you have placed one Fate for each Component. * Fate Matches a Component: 3 points * Fate Beats a Component: 1 point * Fate is lower than the Component: 0 points. Turn the corresponding ace 90 degrees. This is the end of the first round. Add up your points. Discard any Component-Fate pair where the Fate was lower. You may now choose to discard any other Component-Fate pair (on top of the "losing" pairs you already discarded). Discarding means you will not be using those cards again. Put the other Components and Fates back into The Hand. Draw from the deck until you have 10 cards in The Hand (always face down)*. Begin again from -----START----- above. If this is the end of your third round, the game has finished - record your score! If an Ace turns **twice**, the game has ended. Play three rounds total, or until any ace is turned twice. Try to beat your high score. *If you discarded all Component-Fate pairs in the first two rounds, you will only be able to draw 6 cards from the Deck into your Hand on the 3rd Round. This is fine, all it means is you'll play all cards on this final round instead of having two left at the end.
