Getting Started 1. Choose your Goblin Type 2. Choose your Special Item 3. Choose the Scenario 4. Become your character. Think about your character’s goals, motivations, quirks, and limitations. Start trying to think like them. 5. Introduce yourself as your character to the group. At minimum, tell everyone your character’s name, what you look like, one fun thing about you, and your defining quality. 6. After introductions, decide how you want to begin your story. You may use the provided examples or begin however you want. 7. With your characters and initial scene established, start storytelling! Reminders 1. Consider what challenges you will encounter during this scenario. 2. Decide what actions you will take to face the challenges. 3. Role-play as your character, not as yourself. 4. Use your Goblin Type and/or Special Item to help you be more successful. 5. Remember that Hanukkah occurs over 8 nights. Consider what happens over all the nights. 6. Every game should have at least one Ritual. You are welcome to do as many as you want. 7. Create Non-Playing Characters (NPCs). 8. When you need help deciding what happens in a situation, refer to the “Resolving Actions” section.
